The Timber Ridge
A Modern Mountain Oasis
About the
Design Inspiration
Our 2019 Parade of Homes entrant, Timber Ridge was inspired by Colorado. When Murphy’s Custom Homes started building their new home, they wanted to bring the feel of Mountain living to the comforts of a residential area. Tucked away in its own little section of timber woods, this home echoes some of the most luxurious vacation homes that you might find in the heart of the mountains, with modern finishes to warm and rustic features. However, this home isn’t one where you have to worry about your water source or what you might do in an emergency. This is high-class mountain living with the comforts of town within easy reach.
Winner of the People’s Choice Award from the Parade of Homes for houses for sale in the 1.3 to 1.5 million range in 2019, The Timber Ridge is an open and elegant home from Murphy Custom Homes that is nestled into its own little section of forest, giving it a secluded feel in Monument, Colorado.
A warm and inviting home greets you with a pull-through driveway and a three-car garage. Warm wood double doors adorn the entrance as hardwood and stone tile meet in the entranceway to provide you with a landing pad that won’t hurt the hardwood on snowy Colorado winter days. Above you, a stainless steel chandelier screams modern art and elegantly matches the adjacent dining room.
From there the entranceway takes you into an open living room with a vaulted ceiling, a fireplace, and hardwood floors and accents, and a large deck outside that runs across the back of the entire home. An office space and the master bedroom also occupy the first floor, with the master having its own patio, his and her sinks, an elegant standalone bathtub, a luxurious walk-in, stone tile shower, closet space with ample storage, and more.
The kitchen is a wonder of modern and rustic beauty coming together. Almost completely adorned in real wood cabinetry and accents, this kitchen also brings along the modern touch of double-stacked ovens, a stovetop range hood, as well as an island with a built in dining table. Pair this with the adjacent deck to sip your coffee on in the morning and you have a kitchen that has all the warm feelings and utility you need.
The downstairs provides a more dynamic living space, with a fireplace, a bar area fully equipped with a real wood bar, granite countertops, a dishwasher, and cold storage, a large living area, a spacious home theater, and a large patio outside. Two bedrooms connect on the bottom floor through a shared toilet and shower space, each with their own private sink area. It’s a luxurious and easy to maintain option for kids and guests, with stone tiling, rich dark woods, and deep bronze accents.
Two more bedrooms exist, each with their own bathroom, equally as elegant as the ones before, as well as an additional office or living space, a secondary entrance, mudroom, and laundry room. That’s really only the beginning. In 2019, Murphy Custom Homes and the Timber Ridge build took home people’s choice and five superlatives in individual categories including, Best Master Suite, Best Floor Plan, Best Overall Home, and more.
At Home in Monument and Colorado Springs:
History and Attractions
The Timber Ridge house is for sale in Monument Colorado, an area where one can live in peace, but still run off to the chaos and amenities of the city if they so choose. A small town close to Colorado Springs, Monument has grown its population by 450% in the last 20 years, and it’s still just over 9,000 residents strong. Originally established as a trade stop for the Rio Grande River, Monument has stayed true to its roots. The town still presents itself as a place to pass through, with specialty items, souvenirs, and artistic works for sale that you won’t see elsewhere, but for someone ready to settle down, it’s a cozy, only sometimes lively oasis.
The natural beauty that surrounds Monument and the rest of the Colorado Springs area is unmatched in many eyes. The Garden of the Gods, home to Native Americans for hundreds of years, is consistently rated as one of Tripadvisor’s top U.S. Parks, and the many mountain areas leave plenty of nature to explore, while attractions like the U.S. Olympic Museum, the Manitou Springs’ penny arcade, and ample shopping are just a short drive away.
Other Considerations: Services, Shopping, and Schools
As beautiful as the Timber Ridge home build from Murphy’s Custom Homes is, there may still be times where you feel like getting out of the house and you may have more things to consider than how luxurious and comfortable your home is. Monument is a great home for anyone that still enjoys the appeal of small town life, but still loves to have things to do.
Schools in Monument Colorado
Potential home-buyers may see the size of the school district in Monument and worry that it won’t be up to their standards. Monument features two award winning high schools in Lewis-Palmer and Palmer Ridge as well as their highly rated elementary counterparts and other private and early-education providers.
Shopping in Monument and Colorado Springs
Monument will have all the things you need to live a happy, comfortable life in seclusion if you so wish, with unique clothing and boutique stores in town to go along with grocery, liqueur, and hardware stores to get your everyday wares. However, if you want more options and the biggest brand names, there are other historic towns and Colorado Springs within a short drive. Whether it’s electronics, fine dining, high-end fashion, or great art and entertainment, it’s available in Monument or Colorado Springs.
Services in Monument Colorado
Services in Monument aren’t robust, simply because of the town’s small size, but they are plenty. The town has fire and police departments on the ready for their citizens, there’s a number of parks to visit and have fun fishing or hiking that are upheld by the city, adult and youth sports leagues, and all basic utilities available. It’s a mountain town, but like much of Colorado, Monument strives to provide the best in public amenities and utilities to its residents.
