About the Interior Design

Our 2020 Parade of Homes entrant the Eagle’s Nest is a home built for those who enjoy the simple things in life, but enjoy modern elegance as well. The Nest uses a mix of earth tones and combines them with metallic fixtures, other textiles and textures, and fine finishes to deliver a home that can fit any occasion or taste. Whether you want to have a night of entertaining guests at the bar downstairs or you want to get cozyand take advantage of the view, you can do it in style at the Eagle’s Nest.

Designed by Caprice King, the Eagle’s Nest and Murphy’s Custom Homes owe at least part of their People’s Choice award to her. A consultant from Upstage Furniture Consignments, King consulted on the paint pallet of the home as well as the furnishings and their spacing in the layout.

Great Customer Relationships

Perched over the homes and valley below it, the Eagle’s Nest is listed for sale at $950,000 and boasts warmth and elegance as soon as you come through the knotty alder front door. With hickory hardwood floors, a fireplace, sliding glass doors, and soft, warm hues of tan and gold, the home features two patios and panoramic views, and that’s just what’s visible when you walk through the door.

Two luxurious kitchens exist on the first and bottom floors. Beautiful countertops, ample space, and a grease trap hood over the stove and double stacked ovens feature on the main level with an island with an open flow into the dining room space. On the bottom floor, a bar surrounds the kitchen that is a focal point of an open, airy, and beautiful design.

Both of the living spaces are designed with very open concepts, but with distinctly different feels. The top floor invites you to sit down with a book and enjoy your family’s company on a cold Colorado winter day, while the bottom floor features more lively tones, and a nook for games, activities, or hanging out. There’s ample space for a foosball or pool table, and the bottom floor even has its own private entrance as well as a place to hang hats and coats.

The bedrooms all have their own distinct appeal. A hanging door for the bathroom entrance, a connected patio, and green and brown hues give the master bedroom a rustic and warm feel, while other bedrooms are outgoing and eccentric or fit for any guests. All the bathrooms are done in a modern design with stainless steel fixtures and walk-in showers and feature simple, but stylish designs that incorporate shades of white, tan, and black.

Designed for the ultimate relaxation and use of space or to provide an extra residential space, this home invites you to come in and take refuge. It’s part mountain cabin and part vacation home, and all Murphy’s Custom Homes.

Nesting In Colorado Springs: History and Attractions

The Eagle’s Nest, located on Gleneagle Drive in Colorado Springs, is a finely crafted luxury home in a town whose history is equally as rich. In what is now the Garden of the Gods, Native American tribes called the area home until the 1700’s when Spanish and French settlers moved into the region. However, what really set Colorado Springs on course to become the city we love today started around 1870, when General William Jackson Palmer founded the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad and purchased land along its route that would later become Colorado Springs.

Enticed by their beauty when he arrived, the mountains and natural features like the Garden of the Gods are still major attractions in the Colorado Springs area, but there is so much more to enjoy now. Major attractions, art, and culture await in our downtown area. You can get a glimpse into the life of an Olympian in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, train like an American Ninja Warrior, go for a nice sit-down dinner — in an airplane, step back in time at the Manitou Springs penny arcade, and so much more.
